Four buttons

Circular needle 6 mm, wire ~60 cm, and double pointed needles or Magic loop.

Gauge: 16 stitches and 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch.
Measurements
The Polka Cardigan is a chunky cardigan. It comes in three sizes: 1, 2, and 3. To find your size, measure your bust at the widest part. For example, if you measure 100 cm, you would be a size 2. If you are just between sizes, you must decide if you want a more snug fit or a slightly oversized cardigan. The circumference of the cardigan is the measurement of the cardigan around the bust. The difference between your bust measurement and the cardigan’s circumference is the positive ease. If your bust measurement is 95 cm and you choose to knit size 1, it will have a positive ease of 1 cm; if you choose size 2, it will have a positive ease of 13 cm.
Since the cardigan is knitted in garter stitch it will be able to give some width and thus follow the body. Even wen it has a very small positive ease.

Procedure
The Polka Cardigan is knitted from one side to the other, sideways. Left back and front pieces are worked in one piece, across the shoulder. The stitches for the front piece are put on hold, while you shape the neck. New stitches are then cast on for the right front piece to extend the back, and the front piece and right neck is shaped. Then you knit the last two stripes on the front pieces, to shape the neckline.
Pick up stitches for the sleeves, which are knit in the round, alternating rows of all knits and all purls. The sides of the cardigan are seamed using kitchener stitch. Lastly the bottom ribbing and front ribbing are finished and buttons are attached.
